Greenhouse Academy - Helping to Plant the Way to a Better World

Doing more than just planting trees, we're also seeding the horticultural industry for tomorrow and engaging youth in the process. Starting last year, Highway of Heroes Tree Campaign started purchasing tree stock from Greenhouse Academy, a company committed to teaching students about the importance of environmental stewardship and community.

Operating out of a 60,000 sq.ft. greenhouse facility in Thorndale, Ontario, the Greenhouse Academy is a student lead social enterprise that works cooperatively with students, educators, social agencies, conservation agencies, and local businesses to manage a fully-functioning wholesale greenhouse. Their mission is to connect students with businesses and organizations throughout the community, and enrich the student experience with a variety of practical skills including entrepreneurship, financial literacy, environmental stewardship, hands on training, and workplace readiness. Throughout the process of supporting youth, collaborating with local businesses, and engaging the community at large, they’ve grown thousands of seedlings and sapling trees for planting projects, and are actively seeking opportunities to grow products for all types of customers.
