On November 9th, just two days before Remembrance Day, GM Canada teamed up with the Highway of Heroes Living Tribute to add over 150 new trees at the site of their production facility in Oshawa, Ontario.

GM Canada volunteers were joined by Assistant Plant Manager, Reuben Jones, Oshawa Mayor, John Henry, local MPP Jennifer French, representatives from MP Colin Carrie’s office and students from GL Roberts Collegiate to help put the 155 new trees into the ground.

GM Canada took the opportunity to announce a $10,000 contribution to the Highway of Heroes Tree Campaign. The symbolic importance of the trees planted was highlight by a ceremonial wreath laying if front of the first tree planted and was placed by Steve Burnett, a member of the Military Employee Resource Group at GM Canada.

Special thanks to all involved, including OJ Muller Landscaping and the Durham Chapter of Landscape Ontario.
