How much does a tree cost?
A Highway of Heroes Tree is $150. This price includes the cost of the tree (which can vary based on the tree size and species), as well as the professional services that are required to install the trees nearest to the highway. Generally, we aim to plant trees that are between 1 and 1.5 metres tall, as these are most likely to thrive. The cost also includes significant soil remediation because the ground is often heavily compacted and filled with sand and gravel as a result of decades of highway construction. We also want to give newly planted trees every chance to survive, so a portion of the cost is dedicated to the maintenance of young trees.
